What Is Advent?
Advent invites us to pause and prepare our inner world for Christ’s coming. In this slowing, we create space to recognize God’s nearness, to find rest, and to rediscover the sacred in ordinary rhythms. While Advent is from the Christian faith, I hope you’ll notice the universal theme of peace and be able to apply it wherever you are at in your faith journey.

The Theme of Week Two: Peace
Peace is not merely stillness—it is the deep inner sense that God is present and holding us, even when life feels overwhelming. Peace meets us in the tension and reminds us that we are safe in God’s hands.
Noticing God Through the Theme of Peace
God’s peace often arrives as:
- A quieting of fear
- A moment of clarity in confusion
- A softened heart where there was once tension
- A breath that feels deeper than the one before
- The sense that you are being gently guided
Peace allows us to sense God’s presence not only in serene moments but also in the midst of chaos.

Bringing Peace to Others
You can embody God’s peace in everyday ways:
- Creating calm, safe spaces in your relationships
- Responding gently instead of reactively
- Offering comfort instead of correction
- Praying for others with compassion
- Being fully present when someone is hurting
When you carry peace, you become a refuge for weary people.

Watercolor Reflection: The Quiet Waters
Paint a soft, minimalistic watery landscape with muted tones.
Reflect on where God is calming the waters within you and where you might bring peace to someone else this week.
