What Is Advent?
Advent is both reflective and celebratory. It honors the waiting, but it also welcomes joy—joy that is not dependent on everything going right but rooted in God’s unchanging love. While Advent has its roots in the Christian faith, I hope you will reflect on finding joy in this season no matter where your faith comes from.

The Theme of Week Three: Joy
Joy is a gift that bubbles up unexpectedly. It is the spark of life that reminds us God delights in us. This week, symbolized by a rose-colored candle, invites us to look for joy even in simplicity.
Noticing God Through the Theme of Joy
God’s joy shows up in:
- Surprising moments of laughter
- Beauty that catches you off guard
- Creative energy or inspiration
- A memory that warms your heart
- A renewed sense of gratitude
Joy reveals God’s nearness in the delightful, ordinary moments that brighten our day.

Bringing Joy to Others
You can share joy by:
- Offering sincere encouragement
- Celebrating others’ achievements, big or small
- Bringing creativity, humor, or warmth into a space
- Sharing something beautiful—art, music, a story
- Practicing gratitude out loud where others can hear it
Joy is contagious; even small sparks can lift someone’s entire day.

Watercolor Reflection: “The Blooming Colors”
Paint playful blooms or bursts of bright color.
Let each color represent a moment of joy, and allow the watercolor to move freely—symbolizing joy’s surprising nature.
